"ART CONNECTS US"
“Art Connects Us” is a collaborative art project for members of the Artists of Bristol. The project is designed to emphasize how we are all still united by our love of art, even when we are kept from one another by the pandemic.
It's modeled after a project titled “We Are All Connected” by artist Beatrice Sagar. (You can see plenty of examples of decorated pieces and finished puzzles at www.instagram.com/beasagar/.)
Participating artists will receive a 2-1/2” blank puzzle piece to fill with their art. The puzzle pieces will be collected and re-assembled into 11”x14” composites, each featuring the work of 20 different artists. Artists may choose to submit pieces in any of the four project themes — Seasons, Hope, Connections, or Black and White — or with no set theme. All mediums and styles are welcome. (If you use a soft medium such as pastel, charcoal, or graphite it would be helpful if you put a sealer on before returning your piece)
There will be four themes to choose from, plus an artist’s choice option:
Seasons - Art set in any season of the year
Hope - Surviving the pandemic and all the other challenges of our time
Connections - Things that keep us connected, literally or figuratively: bridges, social media and forms of communication, organizations, etc
Black and White
Artist’s Choice (i.e., no set theme)
Each artist may submit one puzzle piece per theme for a maximum of five pieces.
All active members of Artists of Bristol — anyone who paid dues in 2020 or 2021 — are eligible to participate, and all media are welcome. If you are not a current member, you may participate by enclosing your 2021 dues ($20) with the registration form.
There is no fee to participate, but donations will be used to offset the cost of the project. The recommended donation is $1 per puzzle piece.
Print the attached registration form and send it with a self-addressed stamped envelope to
164 North Turn Lane
Levittown, PA 19054
Registrations forms may also be brought to the art change-over at Lower Bucks Hospital on March 4 between 10 am and 12 pm, or on March 5 between 3 pm and 5 pm.
The last day to register is March 31, 2021.
The deadline for returning completed puzzle pieces is April 30, 2021.
