Return to Meeting Notes & News

Date: February 17, 2021

Number of Attendees: 8

Treasurers report: For the period ending January 31, 2021 Dave Eater reports that our regular account held $5321.97, and there was $2332.77 in the 21st Century grant fund giving us a total of $7654.74

Membership: Marty Shively reported that, even though members who paid for 2020 remain on our active rolls and that dues for 2021 do not need to be paid until we resume in person meetings, 27 people have renewed already for 2021. We gained one new member since our last meeting. In addition, $100 was donated along with dues.

Lower Bucks Hospital Show: Ilene Rubin reported that we have 20 artists who have signed up for the next show – “Colors of Spring”. Each artist will have 2 wires and (depending on painting size) should be able to show approximately 6 pictures. The art switch will be on Thursday, March 4 from 10 a.m. until noon or Friday, March 5 from 3 p.m. until 6. Artists are asked to arrive at least a half an hour before the ending time. Also, Covid19 procedures are still in place. Your temperature will be taken upon arrival in the lobby. If you have a fever (even if it is caused by a reaction to a vaccine) you will not be admitted. You can contact Ilene@IleneRubin.com if you have questions or concerns or need to arrange for help switching out your artwork. Please remember, there is a $10.00 entry fee for this show.

Silver Lake Nature Center Show: Plans are moving forward to, hopefully, have this show in June. Details to follow.

Grundy Library Show: This show has been cancelled for 2021

Face Book: Lisa McGovern has volunteered to be the Administrator for the AOB Face Book page.

Group Puzzle Project: Deborah Eater presented information on a collaborative art project in which AOB members can participate. It is called “Art Connects Us” and it is designed to emphasize how we are still all united by our love of art even though we are kept from one another by the pandemic.

Every artist who participates will be able to fill one (or more) 2-1/2 inch puzzle piece(s) with their art. The completed puzzle pieces will be collected and re-assembled into 11”x14” composites, each featuring the work of 20 different artists. The finished works will be displayed at various shows and may be used as fund raisers or prizes in the future.

Please watch your email for more information about this project and a registration form.

Agenda items: If there is anything you would like to put on the agenda for an AOB meeting please get the information to Rodney Miller (ezrod512@comcast.net) by the Friday before the meeting.
