Claire Bergen
In the past, my training in art was limited to the courses I had taken in college,
adult-evening classes and instruction at Bucks County Community College. After retiring in 1999, I decided to work on improving my skills in watercolor
painting. Starting in 2002, I received more focused instruction at the Seufert
Art Studio in Fairless Hills.
In 2005, my watercolor painting of the Nelson House at Washington Crossing Park
in New Jersey, titled A Summer Day, was accepted and sold at the Juried Art Exhibition at Phillips Mill. More recently, my painting Signs of Spring, Taylorsville Pennsylvania, was accepted for the 66th Annual Awards Exhibit at the Cheltenham Arts Center. Also, my work has been exhibited at other gallery venues.
Currently, I am taking instruction in oil painting with Robert Seufert. I am a member of the Artists of Yardley and the Artists of Bristol on the Delaware.
My usual subject preference is local scenery which I paint using sketches and
photographs that I have taken as references.
